Quick & Easy Summer Cocktail Recipes
Summer, the season of garden picnics and barbeques, has arrived! Whether it is catching up on a sports game, organizing a brunch in the backyard, or simply celebrating the arrival of summer, it is always fun to have company over at home during this time; and summer soirees are hardly ever complete without cocktails in tow. So here are some quick and easy cocktail recipes that will add a splash of fun to your summer get-togethers.
- Margarita
This classic drink is sweet and invigorating and is made using fresh lime juice, simple syrup, triple sec, salt, and some tequila. This drink is a shaken cocktail and has just the right amount of lemony zing, making it a refreshing addition to a summer party. Based on your personal preference, this drink can also be stirred or served on the rocks. - Tequila sunrise
This bright, summery drink is made using tequila, triple sec (optional), and grenadine and orange juices. It is made by first pouring grenadine juice into a glass. After this, the triple sec and tequila are shaken with some crushed ice. This mixture is then added to the grenadine juice, with the resulting mix depicting the hues of a rising sun. - Mango and pineapple mojito
This one is bright and fruity and serves as a perfect drink for a summer barbecue. It is made using a mixture of mango puree, pineapple juice, mint leaves, sugar, and either fruity or simple white rum that is topped with ice.
- Frozen margarita
A frozen margarita can be made in no time. Blend some tequila, triple sec, lime juice, and sugar syrup with ice. Pour the mixture into a glass and garnish with a slice of lime. - Screwdriver
Nothing screams summer like a fresh and tangy screwdriver cocktail. All it needs is vodka and orange juice, which are poured over ice. Add some Angostura bitters to the mix and serve with an orange wedge. - Long Island iced tea (LIIT)
Long Island iced tea has long been a favorite of many. It packs a punch with gin, tequila, vodka, rum, triple sec, and lemon juice, which are shaken with ice. The resulting mixture is poured into a jug/glass and topped with cola. - White sangria
A traditional red sangria is nice, but have you ever tried a white one? In order to make a white sangria, you will need some ginger ale, lime and lemon juices, sugar, raspberries and/or peaches, and white wine. Mix the lime and lemon juices with sugar and white wine and stir thoroughly. Pour the ginger ale onto the mixture and top it with raspberries and/or peaches. - Watermelon gin spritzer
This simple cocktail is made with few ingredients and can be a perfect supper accompaniment. Squeeze 1/8th of a lime in a tall glass and add some chopped watermelons and ice to it. Pour gin over the mixture and top it off with tonic water. - Martini
Though the charming Mr. Bond may like his martini “shaken, not stirred”, we suggest you try the stirred version too—you’ll thank us later. Unlike the Vesper martini, a classic martini is made using dry vermouth mixed with gin, which are combined with ice cubes. This blend is stirred and orange bitters (optional) are added to taste. The concoction is garnished with olives.s
