An often overlooked dietary failure of a lot of people is the frequent consumption of garbage coffee products pumped full of sugar and chemicals.
So here is my favorite cup of coffee, loaded with good stuff and lacking the garbage. I’ll call it “not your father’s Bulletproof Coffee,” because it’s way better than the usual buttered coffee.
This was totally a byproduct of making the Paleo Chef’s Unicorn Fuel… I was obsessed with that recipe when I first started making it. #GameChanger (along with all of her other recipes.)
I like to add just a little bit of stevia cause it makes it heavenly.
I don’t measure out the ingredients in my coffee too often, being able to eyeball it and make it to your liking gets easy.
To make one serving of this for myself I use about:
2 cups of coffee
1 tbsp. grass-fed butter (Kerrygold is my O.G. favorite)
1 heaping tsp. cacao powder (not cocoa)
1 tsp. maca powder (can be found in the supplements section at wholefoods)
a big dash of cinnamon
a very small dash of turmeric
5 drops liquid chocolate flavored stevia (or whatever little bit of stevia you’d like)
As the Paleo Chef emphasized, BLEND it!
It makes for a much better beverage than when you stir or shake it. Yes, shaking is the best second option if a blender is unavailable- just make sure the butter is melted and the coffee is hot.
What’s listed above is my go-to “recipe.” I usually just heat my coffee, grab a spoonful of butter, add the dry ingredients and blend. But adding coconut oil or MCT oil is another great option for getting some extra healthy fats. Personally I just love the texture and flavor of the butter so I add a little extra of that when I please.
If you’re not into making a pot of coffee (like me), buying the cold brew coffee from Publix or WholeFoods (or wherever) and heating it in a pot on the stove is a pretty easy option.
I usually get Stok…
Get to your day!
